D2C Senior Technology Manager | Top-Tier Global Luxury Portfolio■Location: Tokyo, Japan■Position Type: Full-time, Permanent■Languages Required: Native/Bilingual Japanese & Business-Level English■The OpportunityThis strategic leadership role sits at the intersection of retail operations, e-commerce, and digital innovation for one of the world's premier prestige luxury portfolios. Directing the technology agenda for direct-to-consumer (D2C) channels in Japan, this position bridges the gap between commercial strategy and modern IT infrastructure. As the head of a dedicated local team, you will shape consumer-facing technologies, optimize store systems, and lead high-visibility rollouts across flagship boutiques, department store counters, and digital platforms. This role offers direct exposure to executive leadership, significant operational impact, and accelerated career paths across an international group network. ■Core ResponsibilitiesStrategic Business Partnership: Serve as the primary technology advisor to commercial leaders and brand VPs, converting business priorities into scalable, high-impact D2C roadmaps. Digital, E-Commerce & CRM Innovation: • Drive local digital growth with a strong emphasis on Japan's LINE ecosystem, clienteling solutions, and social-commerce channels while aligning e-commerce platforms with global tech hubs. • Omnichannel & Retail Operations: Ensure robust application performance and operational continuity across nearly 300 points of sale, supporting store openings, pop-up activations, and Beauty Consultant productivity tools. P• Project & Platform Delivery: Oversee complex local technology deployments and regional system integrations, managing local fit-gap analyses, UAT, deployment, and post-launch optimization. • Deep familiarity with the Japanese market (particularly LINE platform integrations) alongside physical retail or luxury industry exposure.
■Leadership Skills:
• Demonstrated track record of leading technical teams, navigating matrixed regional structures, and managing external vendors.
■Language Skills:
•Fluent-level Japanese and Business-Level English fluency are required to lead local team members and interface with non-Japanese executive directors.
■Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer •Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
